Silence Your Snore with Diet

There are a lot of different types of snoring that people do on a regular basis. There are also a lot of different reasons why people snore at night. Some people simply have a difficult time breathing because of allergies or problems with their sinuses. Other people, however, have something that is a lot more serious than snoring alone. As a matter of fact, this is a condition that can even cause death in some instances. It is known as sleep apnea and if you are suffering from sleep apnea, you are not getting a good night sleep.

What is the number one reason why people snore? It is because they are carrying around additional weight. If you find that you are snoring regularly, you might recognize the fact that it gets worse whenever you gain a little bit of weight. By losing a few pounds, you may actually lose your snore altogether or at least silence it to a certain extent. That is because you are taking some of the pressure off of your airway that is restricted by the fat that you are carrying around. This will help you to breathe easier and as a consequence, to stop snoring.

It's one thing to say that you need to lose weight in order to stop snoring, it's quite another thing for you to actually do it. Why is that the case? Because whenever we are snoring, we are interrupting our sleep every night and not allowing ourselves to get into the deep sleep patterns that keep us rested. Believe it or not, not getting a good night sleep can cause us to gain weight which will make us snore more. This becomes a vicious circle and the less sleep we get, the more we weigh which causes us to get less sleep.

That is why you need to be determined to lose 10% of your body weight in order to silence the snoring. Perhaps it is only 10 or 20 pounds and this can easily be done in about six to eight weeks. Although it is going to take a lot of determination on your part at first in order to lose this weight, once the snoring stops you will find that it becomes much easier. The exercise and diet that you get in order to lose the weight will also help you to sleep better, assisting you in your weight-loss efforts.
